In response to this comment, I must make it clear that my argument has nothing to do with God or religion.
My argument simply stems from the rights of all under the Constitution, as I am a legal scholar -with a vast interest in history and politics. I merely approach the subject from an academic (not to say objective) standpoint.
The reason terms associated with religion keep popping up is simply that, today, religious terminiology (for that matter, religion in general) and cultural views seem to be under fire from all sides.
My argument is purely academic; and, though I am a white, middle-class, Puerto Rican Catholic, I do not agree or disagree wholly with any one religion, culture, lifestyle, or other facet of life. As a matter of fact I welcome all different and new ideas as a principle. Everyone has the right to chose what they think and/or believe. I chose to have choices.
Wow. I do enjoy re-read what I have written, solely because it reminds where I have been, who I truly am, and brings to the forefront the person who I sometimes forget resides within me.
